In a flurry of tempting new gadgetry, Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony Corp. has this week complemented the unveiling of two new download-friendly Blu-ray players with the introduction of its new DAV-DZ Bravia Theatre range.

HDTV owners (specifically those feasting their eyes on Sony Bravia units) will be thrilled at the prospect of enhancing their home cinema environment via the triple-threat DAV-DZ line-up, which includes Bravia Sync, an improved version of Bravia Theatre Sync that provides better overall system control through a single remote.
And the ear-blistering audio compatibility of the DAV-DZ systems doesn’t stop at user’s HDTV, with Sony’s Theatre range also functioning with various portable devices such as MP3 players, mobile phones and Wi-Fi networks, reports Pocket Lint.
The new system also offers up Digital Cinema Auto-Calibration, which Sony claims will enable quick and easy calibration to ensure that the DAV-DZ Bravia Theatre delivers the best sound performance at all times.
The Bravia Theatre range is as follows:Boasting DVD upscaling, compact satellite speakers, HDMI and Scart outputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs, and a total output of 850W, the DAV-DZ260 model is due to hit retail in March. It will support DVD, DVD+/-R/RW discs, CDs, SACDs, DivX and MP3/JPEG files from disc, along with WMA and AAC2 files via USB.
Available in May, the DAV-DZ660 comes resplendent with identical large standmout/wall-mount speakers to cover the four main channels along with a matching centre speaker. S-AIR compatible, the DAV-DZ660 also pushes 850W of performance and all the supported formats, and inputs and outputs of the DAV-DZ260.
Finally, the upper tier DAV-DZ860W is due to arrive in June packing all the features available in the DAV-DZ660 as well as 1000W of output, S-AIR Wireless rear speakers, 32-bit digital sound processing, and a ‘Sports Mode.’
Sony has not yet assigned retail prices to its three Bravia Theatre models.
