After its recent ‘new Satellite models are inbound’ announcement, which arrived as somewhat coy and vague in terms of technical detailing, Toshiba has finally moved to fill in the blanks regarding its range of new and revamped Satellite laptop computers.

Specifically, Toshiba has launched four newly redesigned and re-imagined models from its popular Satellite line, the U400, M300, A300 and P300, offering Intel or AMD processing solutions and ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 (or HD3650) along with respective HD screen sizes of 13.3-inch, 14.1-inch, 15.4-inch and the 17-inch widescreen Toshiba TruBrite LCD.
Along with the tangible appeal of a new textured Fusion Finish aesthetic overhaul, Toshiba’s latest portable computing entrants also offer users the convenience of “Feather Touch” multimedia command keys for the swift and easy control of DVD and CD playback and volume.
Arriving as standard are new Sleep-and-Charge USB ports for charging external devices (MP3 players, mobile phones, PDAs) regardless of whether the computer is powered up or down, and also Webcam facial recognition software for unique user access.
“Toshiba has long stood for strength, usability and quality,” said Jeff Barney, vice president of marketing, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “Building upon this strong foundation, the latest Satellite models are the result of thoughtful consideration and planning, which translates into a finished laptop that provides an abundance of premium computing features while standing out for its brilliant finish.”
Other features include Dolby Sound Room technology, an S/P DIF optical audio connection for hooking up to a home theatre system, and also Harmon Kardon stereo speakers (M300, A300 and P300 only).
