Dear Microsoft,

Go ahead and abandon XP. I intend to join the switch to Mac, and now maybe even Hackintosh!

From Vista to XP is not a downgrade.

I bought a new laptop with Vista, and after 45 minutes on the phone with tech support, I was told to return the computer and get a refund!

I have Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2, automatic upgrades turned off, and I am happy with it.

Vist has problems, but so doesApr 15th, 2008 - 15:03:37

Everyone else.

Vista runs smooth, if you know how to work it. Same with XP. The people who are having problems with Vista probably don't know much about XP either.

MAC is great too, it's expensive for what you get. You will have the same amount of alerts as Vista, and with the new OSX probably just as many problems.

If you want a fancy GUI you can download skins for XP. Or, heres a better idea, instead of switching to MAC and paying more money for less product. Go Linux (Ubuntu is the easiest, RedHat not bad either) it can be as pretty or rettier than MAC. It will install on the PC you have. It's more secure, and if all you are doing it typing Docs and emails you'll be better off and you can brag that you actually have 'skill' and use Linux.
