I enjoyed your article on AVG's Yahoo slam.
I installed AVG, did not specify Yahoo as the default, but it was snuck in ( jargon- past tense of sneaked ) anyway & am now stuck with it.
How to get it back to Google ?
Will uninstalling AVG do it ?
Is it safe to uninstall AVG - will it reset IE to it's base state ?

@James
The 1st thing I would do is check add and remove and if the toolbar is there, delete it. Also IE still allows you to pick your default search, and the browser addon from AVG has configuration options as well, check to see if the option is in there. If there is no progress, email me (security@thiswebsite.com) and let me know. I will reach out to AVG for you. -Steve

I recently purchased AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware software from a Sam's Club store. Installed the software and tried to run the update and keep getting a message 'can not connect'. All the setting on my computer are correct and have no trouble with our high speed internet connection. Even tried to connect to the on-line help, and still get error messages.

Prior to purchasing this software, I ran AVG 7.5 free version with no problems. Upgraded to AVG 8.0 free version and experienced the same problems as the purchased software. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

@Rob

Is this only an update issue?

When you email AVG or look at their forums for the paid version what are you learning? Feel free to email me securit@thissitesname.com for an offline convo. If I can help I will.

I would like to see a comparison of free anti-virus programs. I am currently using the AVG free version.
