If you’re desperate for a legal way to unlock your 3G mobile phone, one that doesn’t involve dubious practices and won’t void the handset’s warranty, then perhaps SIMable from 24/7 Mobile Solutions is just what you need.

Essex-based 24/7 Mobile Solutions’ new “ultra-thin chip” requires no software installation, no hardware fiddling, and simply attaches to a phone’s equipped SIM card in order to create instant access to other mobile networks.
While Apple’s iPhone is currently not included in the list of compatible handsets, SIMable does work in conjunction with a host of Nokia devices (including E and N series), as well as high-end products from the likes of Sony-Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, LG, Siemens, and even Research in Motion’s BlackBerry.
While software and hardware manipulation is not required to take advantage of SIMable, customers will need to align their specific SIM card alongside SIMable by using a supplied hole-punch “cutting tool” which ensures the two card chips are correctly paired. Following this quick “10-second solution,” the customer need only reinsert their tweaked SIM to enjoy an unlocked phone.
While unlocking a mobile phone is not illegal, in the majority of cases such action will nullify a phone’s warranty. Yet, for those worried about the possibility of invalidating any manufacturer’s warranty on their phones, 24/7 Mobile Solutions maintains that “SIMable requires no handset interference and thus the full manufacturer’s guarantee remains intact.”
The company also notes that SIMable, unlike other available phone-unlocking solutions, does not in any way affect the functionality of the host handset. And, should the user wish to remove the added chip, the phone will automatically return to its default locked setting.
SIMable costs £16.99 GBP (approx. $26 USD) and is available directly through the SIMable.com website.
