Not content with the oomph of its KURO home theatre high-definition televisions, Pioneer Electronics USA has this week expanded the brand into the realms of home cinema with the new Elite KURO Projector.

According to Pioneer, its new home projector has been designed to “meet the needs of the most discerning entertainment connoisseurs” thanks to the delivery of industry-leading black levels and impressive 1080p picture performance.
Supporting advanced calibration and built to be a truly worthy addition to any high-end cinematic entertainment installation, the Elite KURO offers up Standard, Dynamic and Movie viewing modes, all of which include the “KURO benchmark” for rich colour, black depth, and signature KURO aesthetics.
“Our customers are entertainment connoisseurs; they crave that total immersive experience that leaves you on the edge of your seat,” commented Russ Johnston, executive VP of marketing and product planning for Pioneer’s home entertainment business solutions group. “The introduction of our new Elite projector is a perfect compliment to our KURO line of displays and answers a need within the market for high-end cinematic installations.”
That answer arrives primarily in the form of wide lens shift capabilities, dual HDMI 1.3 support, and LCoS 1080p resolution technology, which Pioneer claims is capable of producing “one of the highest native contrast ratios” along with superb picture quality to help ably support the company’s very first entrant into the consumer projector marketplace.
Those looking to invest in Pioneer Electronics USA’s Elite KURO Projector should expect to be confronted by a retail price tag of around $9,000 USD when it begins shipping in June of this year.
