'Samsung Electronics and Sprint Nextel are posting pretty decent sales figures for the new Instinct' -- there are no sales figures posted but there ARE whispers about a (quasi-)well-engineered shortage. My instinct is (pun intended): Sprint is toast...

Oh you are SO wrong Azazello. Stick around, watch and learn.

Keep it coming Sprint, in less than 2 yrs now, 4G will be up and running from Sprint. Props to all the engineers for their hardwork, now its time for Sprint management to step it up.

Azazello is right. There are NO figures available - just talk of a 'sellout' . Given that the article's title says 'Samsung Instinct confirms its iPhone-killer prowess', it's a little fishy that there aren't any figures available.

Props to all the copycat killers out there trying to copy and catch up. . .
Apple will always be a step ahead. But there will of course be successful copycats out there that capture market share based upon cheaper contracts/phones and/or people not wanting to switch carriers. It's good for the market. But there's only ONE massively innovative company taking the world by storm. . .Apple. The only one to watch is Google's Android, which is also a copycat of sorts. But they have the AI and power to make major headway in the forseeable future of mobile computing and digital lifestyle.

Poser Nation mentioned Apple being ahead in innovation. Wrong. I'll give you that apple is innovative in terms of design/marketing... but tech wise, they're as innovative as Dell. Which isn't saying much.

Go check out what parts the iPhone use on the inside. Yep, none other than Samsung. Pretty funny eh?

I have had the Instinct since day 1 of the launch. I have to say it is the best phone on the market. The iPhone is a cool gadget, but it is merely an iPod that functions as a phone. The point of being mobile is not being tied to a wi-fi network. Thats where the EVDO-Rev A comes in handy. ATT is slower in all aspects and has less coverage here on the west coast. I put my instinct up against the iphones my clients have and even the 3G yesterday. They have dropped them or are switching to sprint to get the Instinct. (about 20 peole and counting, most with multiple handsets)Better coverage, superior phone, superior price plans with Sprint make the Instinct unbeatable. I have viewed all of my attachments on my phone. No issues. I forward my work email to my gmail account and display it as a google doc or HTML instead of native. Then I can do whatever.

The iPhone is cool dont get me wrong, but considering the service you have to get and the extra costs associated with owning one?? Ill take the Instinct. Plus, Samsung built the cmponents for the iPhone anyway. So is it really an Apple product??

Sprint has started the turnaround process. The LG products and the Blackbery Bold were disappointments compared to the hype. The instinct has EXCEEDED expectations. Sales figures are not officially out...But speaking to insiders at Sprint that I know, they estimated about 366k units on day one. possibly higher. Considering the weak economy, that is phenomenal. Even if it were half that (unlikely) that is a huge number. When you wrap in an Simply Everything plan (data, talk, GPS, TV, messaging, pic and video messaging) for 99$, your set...For $99 you get talk at ATT?

I challenge you to find a better deal....Plus the instinct comes with all necessary accessories (including spare battery...cant do that with an iphone....

Is that suppose to hurt apple or something? that its basically an Ipod with a phone, I mean to me thats a + having your music on the go great service from apple and great quality phone, when you compare the quality build wise the samsung instinct looks like a cheap rip off its like one of those made from china devices, I mean even the phone comes in a plastic packaging. Also 3G on the iphone is just as good as the one on Instinct, might be 2sec 3sec behind but is that a big deal? lol first off iphone is able to render real websites much faster than Instinct because its use to just using its 3G powers for mobile made sites. And where iphone shines is the 3rd party applications where developers are most happy with and feel the OS for iphone is much easier to work with and that the hardware in the iphone is much more power than any cellphone on the market. So for you guys with the 'I just got this phone, this is my first touch phone blah blah blah', give it up cause you guys aren't fooling no one, the 1st gen iphone sales speak for themselves the 3G iphone sales speak for themselves and at the end of the day the iphone is just better and more popular to the consumers.
