Well, the new laptop updates are coming into view as something much more than a Tuesday update which is what i previously speculated, it looks like this will all be done in a big apple event in September.

Why do they need to do a 15.6' screen? Why not just keep the 15'? Why do we need that/

!5.6 inches or 39.62 centimeters, bigger is better. I can imagine that marketing and/or engineering had their reason(s). The great part of America is we are free to buy or not buy the products. My current Mac Book Pro should last until the 15.8 inch model becomes available in 2011.

@Sanford: it's already a 15.4' diagonal screen. adding that additional 0.2' will be marginally noticeable at best.

For the cognoscenti, one signifies a foot with an apostrope (') and an inch by a quote (')

How could anyone us a diagonal screen larger than fifteen feet? Anybody?

yes, but what about the new quad processor rumors? this is a significant deviation from binary, yes? but I am wary, if for no other reason than this evolutionary leap will invariably bring out unforeseen bugs and malfunctions... so maybe waiting for the gen 2 is wiser?

I've been desperate for the new MBP to come out, as my last one had an all out brawl with a starbucks venti chai tea - the tea won. I didn't purchase yet because I was waiting for the [hypothesized] revamp in Sept.. but how long is reasonable and safe to wait? obviously it may depend upon the feedback after the first month or so of release, but I'm gettin' real antsy... I'm jones'n for a new laptop sum'n fierce.

suggestions? ideas? apostrophe's?
