With MGM and Columbia Pictures’ hotly anticipated new James Bond feature ‘Quantum of Solace’ looming large on the Hollywood horizon, mobile phone specialist Sony Ericsson has moved to tap the veins of gadget-loving movie watchers everywhere with its limited edition Titanium Silver C902 Cyber-shot handset.

As used by James Bond (Daniel Craig) during the upcoming sequel to 2006 action blockbuster Casino Royale, the new C902 comes complete with a memory card loaded with everything a budding secret agent would want, including interactive 007 content and even a spy-style videogame.
Sadly it doesn’t come with remote explosive detonation features, automated Aston Martin controls, or a zip-friendly magnet for use during a smooch-heavy kiss with a soon-to-be-killed screen babe wearing a figure-hugging evening dress.
Sony Ericsson’s exclusive content will see users graced with the full colour trailer for Quantum of Solace (the 22nd Bond movie and first official sequel), various behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast, James Bond mobile themes, a trailer for Activision’s official Quantum of Solace videogame, and even exclusive C902 movie wallpapers and screensavers.
Beyond its connection to the movie, which sees Bond using it to snap vital evidence for MI6, the C902 Cyber-shot offers up a 2.0-inch TFT colour display screen (240x320) and a 5.0 mega-pixel camera with a unique slide-out lens cover, illuminated touch icons and a 2.5x digital zoom.
The camera also comes with features such as BestPic for multiple moving image capture (up to nine shots), Face Detection, Photo Flash, Auto Focus, Picture Blogging, PictBridge support, video recording, and Image and Video Stabilisation.
“With the rich array of content both on the phone and preloaded on a memory card bundled with the C902 Titanium silver limited edition, fans of the secret agent will only get more James Bond with Sony Ericsson,” trumpeted Lennard Hoornik, corporate vice president and global head of marketing for Sony Ericsson.
Other core features and functions on the C902 include compatibility with UMTS/HSDPA 2100 and EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900, a Web browser, onboard Media Player with PlayNow and TrackID, an FM radio, 3D games, Bluetooth, USB support and 160MB of internal memory (expandable via the addition of Memory Stick Micro).
Weighing in at just 107 grams and measuring 108 x 49 x 10.5 mm, the Titanium Silver C902 Cyber-shot from Sony Ericsson will be available for a limited time in the fourth quarter of 2008. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.
Quantum of Solace is due for theatrical release this coming November.
