Security is something that constantly evolves. One thing that needs to be remembered however, is that security on a network or personal level is more than a collection of applications and tools, security is a mindset.
Being aware of security is essential. Making security a part of an overall business model, application or Web site development process -- or even just paying due care and attention as you surf the Internet -- is an important process.
There are layers to security. There is the human layer, and then a layer that deals with tools, both software and hardware related. The human layer of security is complex. There is nothing that will identify a person as criminal for example, or one that will predict that 'Joe in sales' is handing off company assets.
Likewise, while there is a plethora of hardware and software-based security on the market, no one single tool does it all.
Looking at both business and home-based protection, the NCSAM articles aim to offer information and resources to help everyone stay secure.
