Seemingly working hard to maintain the popular consumer appeal attached to its recently blemished VAIO line , consumer electronics specialist Sony has this week shone the spotlight of hardware convenience on its new VAIO JS all-in-one PC.

With space-saving attributes playing an increasingly important role in aesthetic design, Sony’s VAIO JS offers itself up as a sleek all-in-one PC system that’s unlikely to take up too much room, even on the most cluttered of desktops.
Vying for a place alongside similar hardware entrants from the likes of Apple and Dell, Sony’s JS comes complete with a widescreen-friendly 20.1-inch WSXGZ+ monitor (1680 x 1050), as well as a sleek flat-tube casing and a complete but unobtrusive keyboard.
In terms of performance muscle, the VAIO JS offers plenty of convincing oomph in the form of a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU (E7200), 3GBs of RAM, 500GBs of hard disk drive (HDD) storage, Intel’s integrated X4500HD graphics, Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11n/g/draftn).
Other features include Microsoft’s Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, a built-in optical drive, an integrated Motion Eye Web camera, Dolby Home Theater technology, and Sony’s own Sound Reality signal processor chip -- which is SA-CD compatible.
While the VAIO JS is set for initial retail availability in colour choices of either pink or silver (pictured), Sony has not yet stamped official release dates or regional prices on its new all-in-one platform.
The unveiling of Sony’s VAIO JS all-in-one follows hot on the heels of the rather sexy VAIO TT notebook as Sony looks to paper over the recent product recall that affected some 440,000 VAIO notebooks with design flaws that can lead to potential overheating.
