The world is officially going mad following news that authorities in the United States have hit a teenage girl with felony child pornography charges for allegedly sending nude mobile photos of herself to school classmates. And, if that’s not mad enough for you, then some of the students who received the pictures are also facing charges too.

The 15-year-old girl, who has not been named, was arrested when a fellow pupil notified staff at the Licking Valley High School in Newark, Ohio, of the photo sharing and school officials subsequently called the police.
According to The Newark Advocate, the young girl was swiftly incarcerated in a juvenile correction facility for the duration of the weekend before then entering a plea of “deny” to the charges this past Monday.
While seemingly odd, given that the images were of the girl herself, the teenage exhibitionist now faces charges of use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and possession of criminal tools.
The Advocate outlines that, if found guilty, the girl could be entered into the sexual offender register, which would result in her being branded for some 20 years.
Somewhat ironically, the discovery of the girl’s pictures came about after a Licking County prosecutor visited the school during an initiative to inform pupils as to the possible legal consequences of passing lewd imagery by mobile phone.
While the girl, who is in foster care and under house arrest, could face 20 years on the register, the Advocate reports that the attending judge has a degree of flexibility in appraising the individual case due to her being a minor.
