I was lucky enough to win one of these at the Georgia Dome this past weekend by grabbing tickets in a wind machine. I had been Googling it multiple times a day, anticipating the release and trying to find the price and release date. I understand the love some people have for Apple but let's be real...The Storm is about to roll in and rain on Steve Job's parade. Nothing against the iPhone, it just won't be 'Apple' to hold its own against the Storm.

Figures Java screwed it up. Java-anything sucks. So does PDF. Two crappy technologies that we all wished would go away!

Does the BB storm have a removable SIM card? Although this would defeat the purpose of having 'seamless' BB service, this would enable the user to have the option of using a local SIM and pay cheaper local rates of that particular city/country.

For some reason, the Curve gets email instantly (not connected to a BES). My 8830 doesn't get instant email. I'm hoping the Storm will do the same. Does anyone have any idea why the Curve does this? I've seen it on Verizon and ATT networks. When I did a few tests, the BB got the email within just a few seconds, even before it showed up in Outlook. Also, can anyone confirm if GPS will work with 3rd party apps? VZ Navigator pales in comparison to Google Maps. Google Maps is easier, faster and has 100 x's the features as VZN. Can't wait for the Storm!!!!

[EDIT Steve R - TTH: @PC When I was testing the Storm at the launch event, the 3rd Party GPS was unavailable. No one has it yet. The Built-in BB GPS is there and VZ Navigator is all that you get so far. The APP Store is supposed to have these things, but that is still up in the air. When I get one for the official review, I will test this and report on it. There is a lot of effort placed in developing the GPS on the Storm, so we will see. ]

My verizon rep confirmed that GPS will only work for the VZN and BB maps. Nothing else. What a bummer. Google Maps makes VZN look like a WIndows 95 computer compared to Mac

[Edit: SteveR - TTH: When I tested the phone lastnight. Google wasn't available for it. I used VZN, but it worked like on the other phones. BBmaps is ok. When I talked to the reps at the launch party they swore up and down about the 3rd party addition. Let me email them and see Paul, maybe there is something down the line since OPEN isnt up and moving quite yet.]
