I currently receive computer protection from McAfee Internet Security Suite free through my cable service provider. I have had the service for about a year. Several times now, McAfee has let through some virus/malware or other, and I've had to (online) chat w/ customer service to get help w/ the issues. Two of the three times, the person I was connected to was not in the US. This, for me, is not an issue if they can still do their job, but I had to dumb down my questions (use simpler English) in order for the person to be able to understand them, even when the more technical jargon should have been a part of their McAfee vocabulary training, and might have actually helped me get my problems solved. One of these two sessions, the person was able to help me. The other session, I was told to simply uninstall and reinstall McAfee. The third time I had a problem, I got a person actually in the US, but her answer was also, uninstall and reinstall. She did offer to connect me to the techies who would help me rid my computer of the virus (that is still infecting my computer, because McAfee didn't do it's job properly), for a fee. I ask you, if the company can get people to pay them to rid the customer's computers of malware, what is the incentive for them to have their product actually work well? As I mentioned earlier, I get McAfee for free as a service of my cable company. After being told that in order to fix my problem, I'd have to uninstall the software and reinstall it, I will simply be uninstalling it, and finding another suite to protect my computer.

I have a generic /artimis virus. Mcafee did not remove it. I think that these companies are letting in or creating these virus's to create work (charging to remove them) call it paranoid , but something down in my gut tells Me this.
I too called customer service and got an off shore person that I could not understand, and She could not understand Me. Thats not fun , when Your calling to get a problem fixed cause Your Laptop is now working like a snail, and comcast/mcafee says they block these threats.....Now they want to charge 49 to 89 bucks to take it off, I think this is called job security not computer security.......not happy customer.....Thanks

Nice tool. Much better than Norton 360, Version 2 and 3.
Looks can be considered as the only downside. This is guy also made non-functional by Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2. But, I think we can do without that stupid browser.

I was previously using Norton 360 which conflicted with my Dragon Necessarily Speaking and Rocket Dock. Played with my Start-Up applications and the many undesirable activities that Norton usually do.

I am much happy after switching to McAfee. The one is lightweight, have smart controls, the firewall is brilliant, and don't seem to have conflicts with most of the applications except Internet Explorer eight. The computer maintenance tools like temporary flies cleaner, registry cleaner and the defragmenter are much more easily accessible than Norton or BitDefender.

Scans are however slower than Norton but it detected many Trojans, viruses and unwanted applications which my Norton 360 could not clean.

Overall, this one is a nice to have application in your PC. Do not slowdown in your computer and have a very responsive interface.
