Kicking off a celebration of Check Point’s 15th anniversary, the security company behind the famous ZoneAlarm firewall is offering everyone a free copy of ZoneAlarm Pro. ZoneAlarm Pro is the paid version of the free firewall ZoneAlarm and retails for $39.95 USD.

The offer for one free year of ZoneAlarm Pro starts at 09:00 EST (06:00 PDT) tomorrow, November 18. The URL to download the software is set to go live at that time.Unlike the free version of ZoneAlarm, the Pro version adds several features including ID protection (with credit monitoring), anti-Spyware protection, and other privacy features. In addition, ZoneAlarm Pro offers wireless security, by identifying new networks for safe configuration, avoiding the malicious man-in-the-middle access points."This is in celebration of Check Point celebrating its 15th anniversary when it created Firewall-1 for the enterprise," a Check Point representative said.If the only firewall you are using is the one included with Windows, then take advantage of this offer, and step up to faster and tighter control. ZoneAlarm, even the free version, offers more protection than the standard firewall introduced in XP Service Pack 2. The fact that this is a free license for the Pro version only makes the offer sweeter.
