It totally sucks. The old interface was much nicer (and cleaner). The avatars thing is most obviously a rip-off of Miis.

It's great. the interface is fast and slick, the hard drive game installs rock and the avatars are great fun.

A few features were not working yesterday... but for the most part it went well for me. It looks to cute for my tastes and i would like a more adult or even dark theme. Sure my 11 year old thinks its cool but it left me wondering (for the first time) that maybe Im in the wrong place and i should return to my roots as a PC gamer.

I did the update on 5 360's yesterday with no problems other than having to recover the gamer tags on two of them, which was only a five minute delay. None of my friends had any problems either as I saw their avatars pop into existence throughout the day. I wonder how wide spread the problems are...

Mine went fine as well, with the exception of not being able to create or join a party which is mentioned in the article as being delayed.
Jay, there is a night theme to darken things up...

I haven't been able to log-in to XBox Live since the upgrade. All my network and internet tests passed but I can't sign-in. I was on the phone with Microsoft suport for 2 1/2 hours last night and they had no solutions to my problem.

I wish I could go back to the old dashboard when I could actually use Xbox Live.

Not surprised that there are issues with the new interface. It really seems as though Microsoft threw this one together last minute. I am not an Xbox owner however I find it funny that many are touting the HDD installs on the system as being a benefit when they laughed at developers doing it on Sony's console.

Ok it may look lovely and fresh but to be honest i smell something rotten here.

Why i think is rubbish:

* Slow
* I Can't connect to Xbox Live
* Don't let me stream my video from my pc anymore, say i need a media update and for some strange reason it don't let me!!

In my true opinion i reckon its just Microsoft's way of trying to stay with the trend but i don't find it very cool.

If things don't go back to normal soon i will be really annoyed, i enjoyed being able to stream videos from my pc.

I unfortunately am one of the xbox owners that have gotten the red ring of death after installing this update. It was working fine just a few minutes before installing this, and now it's a big white paper weight. They really need to test this stuff more before they roll this crap out to the public.
