Officially announced by Disney on Thursday, April 30, Hulu users will subsequently be able enjoy access to full-length episodes of popular television shows such as Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Lost – all of which are carried by Disney-owned broadcasting arm ABC.
Other notable ABC television and cable content heading for Hulu includes The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Wizards of Waverly Place, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and Dancing With The Stars.
Trumpeting its continuing evolution in the digital marketplace through existing availability deals with Apple’s iTunes Store and its own ad-supported ABC.com player, Disney has said its new association with Hulu, “is the next extremely important step in that ongoing journey.”
According to online traffic tracker comScore, Hulu is presently the fourth most popular online broadcast outlet with 41.6 million monthly viewers. Google-owned YouTube remains the market leader with a whopping 100.3 million monthly visitors.
