Considering the user strength and feature versatility of social networking phenomenon Facebook, you’d think its mobile page iteration would offer plenty of similar functionality. However, that simply hasn’t been the case… up until now.

More pointedly, smartphone handset owners looking to extend their Facebook association can now snap up a completely free and feature-rich application built by Microsoft for its Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system that promises to improve significantly on existing mobile access to Facebook.
While the new application enables on-the-go account holders to enjoy basic interactions such as monitoring and updating status messages and approving friend requests, it also offers more of a rounded Facebook experience by allowing users to share images and swap out their profile pictures.
Arriving as a definite first, the application also allows account holders to directly upload video-based content to the network through their handsets.

Disgruntled MySpace users hoping for something similar on their Windows Mobile OS devices can take solace from news that Microsoft is also working on a MySpace application, which is expected to arrive before the end of the summer.
