Described as offering “a balance of personal and professional” features in a sleek chassis design, the HTC Dash – true to its name – promises speedy data delivery and Web browsing through T-Mobile’s 3G network and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g).
Beyond its glossy black finish and sassy red accents, the HTC Dash 3G is powered by Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, and provides users with a full QWERTY keyboard, on-board GPS, a range of messaging options, and synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook.
“HTC is designing products like the T-Mobile Dash 3G to appeal to the ever-growing number of customers who are using the empowering features of smartphones to benefit their busy lives,” enthused HTC America vice president Jason Mackenzie.
“HTC is pleased to continue its long history of working closely with T-Mobile as we today introduce the next generation of the popular T-Mobile Dash,” he added.
T-Mobile USA, which is current extending its 3G network to span some 200 million people across the United States, is also working to roll out a range of new 3G-capable smartphone devices – including the Dash 3G – in order to take advantage of that expansion and increasing consumer demand for smartphone devices.
The HTC Dash 3G is expected to arrive at T-Mobile retail stores and select authorised handset dealers next month.
In related news, T-Mobile has said next week will see it unveiling more details regarding its next Android-powered phone, the follow-up device to the original T-Mobile G1 with Google.
