Despite a three-part standalone single-player trilogy, a phenomenally popular online multiplayer service, and a recent tangent into the world of real-time strategy, it would appear Microsoft hasn’t quite finished milking the Halo cash cow.

More pointedly, the software giant has used the San Diego comic convention to reveal that it is enlisting the services of renowned Japanese animation houses Studio I.G, Bones and Toei to create a seven-part anime series called Halo: Legends.
And, in a move to focus attention on the Halo franchise, Halo Waypoint was also announced, which will serve as a central information hub on Xbox Live offering a plethora of information related to all ongoing Halo projects.
According to Microsoft, the Waypoint will provide fans with “content ranging from podcasts, trailers and screenshots, to exclusive video footage you won’t find anywhere else.” It will also offer “a career system and player rankings tied to both in-game and out-of-game accomplishments related to Halo.”
Other upcoming new videogame entries presently in development for the series include Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach.
