With the Xbox 360’s new ‘Games on Demand’ download service looming large on the horizon, Microsoft has moved to increase the convenience and appeal of its host Xbox Live platform by introducing support for electronic payment via PayPal.

However, while the addition of PayPal will enable Xbox 360 owners to connect multiple PayPal accounts to a single Xbox Live account and purchase content without requiring a credit card, the service will be initially limited to Xbox Live users in the United States.
Also, payment through PayPal will not be possible through the user’s actual console but rather by accessing the official Xbox.com Web site.
Games on Demand is scheduled to launch on August 11 and will give Xbox 360 users download access to full versions of classic videogame releases such as BioShock, Mass Effect, Need for Speed Carbon and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Prices are expected to range from 1,600 Microsoft Points ($19.99 USD) to 2,400 Microsoft Points ($29.99 USD).
PayPal’s arrival adds yet another string to Microsoft’s online gaming bow and follows the April introduction of Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) titles to the virtual shelves of Amazon -- allowing customers to purchase $10 USD redeemable codes for specific game downloads on Xbox Live.
