Adding to the long list of celebrities immortalised in yellow skin care of America’s longest-running comedy show, popular band Coldplay are to be given The Simpsons treatment.

Likely to appear more animated than they do in real life, the whiny British four-piece, who found fame stateside following their aptly titled slice of melancholy ‘Yellow’ will guest star in season 21 of the show, according to a spokesperson for the band.
In terms of content, reports surrounding the episode suggest the band will be hired by Homer in order to put on a private and impromptu gig for the family following a lucky lottery win.
“When Bart goes to the bathroom, Coldplay has to stop [playing],” the show’s executive producer explained to U.S. online magazine Entertainment Weekly regarding to the demands put on the band by the suddenly flush Simpsons.
It remains to be seen if Coldplay front man Chris Martin – a.k.a. Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow – then opts to best utilise the toilet interlude to extol the virtues of promoting fair trade, ending poverty in third-world nations and saving the planet from ecological disaster.
Other famous names from the music industry already given a place in the annuls of Simpsons history include former Beatle Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, Elton John, Sting, Metallica, The Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Spinal Tap, Elvis Costello, and Michael Jackson.
