When it comes to truly ‘high speed’ high-speed broadband, you might think that higher speeds come attached to higher package prices. And, in the main, you’d be right. However, if you’re thinking about tapping Virgin Media’s lightning-quick service, then now is certainly the time to do so.

More pointedly, Virgin Media is offering new customers in the United Kingdom (Direct Debit and eBilling only) access to its speedily speedy XXL 50Mb broadband deal for just 18 GBP per month for the first three months.
That initial 18 GBP monthly charge will jump to 28 GBP per month after the 90-day promotional offer expires and is reliant on customers also adopting the rental of an 11 GBP per month Virgin phone line.
Prospective customers keen on the 50Mb broadband but not enamoured by the prospect of a Virgin phone line can sidestep the rental. However the 90-day offer then sits at 33 GBP per month, reverting to 38 GBP when the promotion expires.
Regardless of the pricing structure chosen, Virgin’s packages deliver some of the fastest upload/download broadband performance available in the UK at mightily tempting value – along with a free modem and Wireless N router, unlimited storage, automatic backup, free PCGuard Total, free installation, and 100 free photo prints every month.
“This deal from Virgin offers great value for money on a package with unrivalled speed,” commented James Parker, broadband manager at moneysupermarket.com.
“For those people who download a lot or stream music or TV through Spotify or iPlayer then this deal will be hard to beat.”
Virgin Media’s focused push to get consumers aboard its 50Mb service comes as the telecommunications giant prepares to launch a broadband package that will deliver performance speeds up to a whopping 200Mb.
