Seems Verizon Wireless just can’t help itself this week. Following the unveiling of the Samsung Rogue and Samsung Intensity, the North American carrier has also moved to roll out the really rather sexy Touch Pro2 handset.

The latest smartphone offering from the specialists at HTC Corporation, the Touch Pro2 breaks from mounting mobile phone trends insofar as it carries Microsoft’s Windows 6.1 Professional operating system and doesn’t actually run on the Google-backed Android platform.
Running on the Qualcomm MSM 7600A processor (528MHz), the Touch Pro2 comes equipped with a generous 3.6-inch WVGA touch-screen display (400 x 800), a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and the TouchFlo user interface.
The sleek handset also enjoys high-speed performance through Verizon’s 3G (EV-DO) network, while also supporting a range of connectivity options in GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g.
Other core attributes include a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus and video capture, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP stereo, 288MBs of internal memory, (expandable through microSD to 16GBs), connectivity with Microsoft Exchange, Outlook and Office applications, and support for GPS via VZ Navigator.
With a promised talk time of up to 5.3 hours (CDMA) on a single charge of its 1500 mAh battery, the Touch Pro2 comes attached to a price of $199 USD after a $100 USD mail-in rebate and an agreed two-year service contract.
The Touch Pro2 will be available for online order from Friday, September 11.
