With the recently unleashed PlayStation 3 Slim (PS3 Slim) already racking up outstanding sales across major retail territories, industry indications would suggest Sony is planning to further tempt consumers with a 250GB version of its shrunken console.

Speaking with prominent online publication Eurogamer, a UK retail outlet has said the Japanese electronics giant will officially announce the 250GB hardware bundle during this month’s Tokyo Game Show (TGS) between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27.
According to the unnamed retail source, the console “is a definite” and will hit store shelves as early as October. This latest UK retail whisper is the latest in a long line of similar claims pointing to a selection of tweaked hardware packages involving the Slim.
Specifically, videogame retailers across Europe have indicated that a 250GB Slim bundle augmented with one of several upcoming software releases, which include the likes of cross-platform heavyweights FIFA 10 and Assassin’s Creed II, along with PlayStation exclusives Gran Turismo 5 and Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves.
In related news from the Japanese market, plunging PlayStation 3 sales ahead of the Slim’s arrival have been erased from memory thanks to five-day unit sales of more than 151,000. PlayStation 3 sales figures in the week prior to the Slim’s arrival were a paltry 1,040 units.
