While current trends in the mobile phone industry might suggest most manufacturers are keen to have their handsets associated with the Google-backed Android operating system, Samsung’s new Omnia Pro B7330 remains aligned with Microsoft’s stalwart Windows platform.

Set to arrive as a series upgrade to the Omnia Pro B7320 – which itself hasn’t been on the market very long – the new B7330 will differ from its predecessor insofar as it eschews a QVGA screen in favour of generously squared 320 x 320 offering, and even has HSUPA thrown in for good measure.
Also, while the existing Omnia Pro B7320 carries Windows Mobile 6.1, the newer Omnia Pro B7330 – which looks not unlike a BlackBerry thanks to its low-slung QWERTY keyboard – will come with Windows Mobile 6.5 installed as standard.
The Omnia Pro B7330 is expected to hit retail outlets before the end of October. Samsung has not yet confirmed the handset’s accompanying price points.
Further nurturing its love for the evolving mobile iteration of Windows, Samsung has also said that all future editions of its i8000, B7320, B7300, and B7610 handsets will come with Windows Mobile 6.5 pre-installed, while existing handset owners with version 6.1 will be granted upgrade access.
