Dissatisfied with the quality of music delivered through your mobile phone headphones? If so, then the portable music boffins at headset manufacturer Sony Ericsson have just what you need to secure great in-ear reproduction alongside an intuitive technological twist.

While we here at The Tech Herald can’t quite get our heads around the who, what and why of Sony Ericsson’s new button-free MH907 headphones, the gesture-based buds are described as “the world’s first ever motion activated headphones” and are, apparently, just what the mobile phone experience needs.
Imbued with Sony Ericsson’s proprietary ‘SensMe Control’ technology, users need only plunge the buds into their ears in order for music to be automatically channelled. Similarly, removal of both buds will stop the flow of music, while the removal of one bud will execute the pause function. Receiving, ending and pausing incoming phone calls is accomplished using the same movements.
“With the MH907 consumers can pocket their phone but still stay connected all day, every day by simply plugging in or removing their earbuds – there is no need for a remote control or any buttons,” commented Jacob Stein, senior vice president of SEMC Accessories.
Other features include Clear Audio for superior sound, a built-in microphone for on-the-go phone chat, magnetic shielding, neodymium magnet units, an integrated FM antenna, and a cable length of 164mm.
Available in colour choices of Yellow/White and Titan Chrome and compatible with handsets equipped with a fast port connector, the MH907 earbuds will hit retail this week attached to a cost of around $55 USD (€39 Euros).
