Expected to arrive before the close of September, an online pre-order page has suddenly appeared on the French and German-speaking retail Web site eXpansys, outlining some of the core specifications crammed into Acer’s sassy little platform.
Specifically, the quad-based GSM/tri-band 7.2Mbps A1 handset will cost 390 Euros, sport version 2.0 of the Google-backed Android operating system, along with a generous 3.5-inch WVGA touch-screen display (800x480).
Other features include impressive handset processing thanks to Qualcomm’s 768MHz 8250 chip, 256MBs of internal RAM, memory expansion via microSD, built-in GPS navigation, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) connectivity, a 5.0 mega pixel camera with auto focus, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Acer A1 also promises up to 300 minutes of talk time and up to 400 hours of standby time on a single charge of its rechargeable 1350mAh lithium-ion battery.
