With the recently launched PS3 Slim creating a surge of success at retail, and critically acclaimed software exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves similarly flying off retail shelves, Sony Computer Entertainment is hoping a 250GB version of its powerhouse console will help maintain presently elevated consumer interest.

As the original 120GB version of the svelte PS3 Slim approaches two months of availability, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has this week officially confirmed a more spacious 250GB model will hit the U.S. market on November 03 at a suggested price of $349.99 USD.
The much-rumoured arrival of the upgraded console variant follows initial 250GB software bundles that were recently rolled out in the United Kingdom – one of which saw the more spacious videogame system sold alongside possible ‘Game of the Year’ candidate and Sony exclusive InFamous.
Sadly for U.S. gamers, Sony’s online blog confirmation shows the 250GB version of the PS3 Slim will be a standalone release and won’t initially be attached to a software sweetener, which may annoy some given the U.K. bundles and also that the Japanese market will be getting a 250GB console bundled with Final Fantasy XIII.
