Yet another rumour to add to the ever-expanding ‘pinch of salt’ pile after the sudden appearance of an online report suggesting handset heavyweight Sony Ericsson will formally unveil its much talked about Android-equipped project Rachael smartphone this coming November 03.

More pointedly, the diligent industry watchers over at SE-blog claim the code beneath a recent Sony Ericsson teaser page all-but confirms the imminent unveiling of the Rachael handset – or Xperia Infinity as some believe it will be called.
According to Sony Ericsson’s suitably vague ‘What’s Next?’ campaign placeholder, an upcoming November 03 announcement will duly reveal whether the handset manufacturer has successfully crossed the line “between the extraordinary and the magical.”
The blog also notes that Sony Ericsson’s division in South Africa has issued an accompanying Twitter post stating the “latest teaser site [is] up for project Rachael,” and that the big reveal will be made on November 03.
However, the URL link provided for said Twitter post is now dead – which could indicate a swift removal by Sony Ericsson following an unwanted slip.
Other features and functions previously linked with the shadowy Rachael smartphone include the increasingly popular Android mobile operating system, a 4.0-inch WVGA display, a touch-screen user interface, HSDPA (10Mbps), Wi-Fi, an 8.1 mega pixel camera, A-GPS navigation, Bluetooth v2.1, and an onboard multimedia player.
