Seems unfair for us to go a whole day without fawning all over a brand new mobile handset – self-confessed techno whores that we are – so permit us a moment of hurried composure as we direct your eyes away from our pants and towards the sleek lines of the Aino, which arrives courtesy of the boffins at Sony Ericsson.
Mmm, we\'d like one please, Sony Ericsson... if you\'re reading this. Image: Sony Ericsson.
Although the extremely pretty Aino was actually showcased by Sony Ericsson during the summer months, the manufacturer has only now officially pushed the unlocked GSM handset into the U.S. market, where it is expected to cost around $600 USD for the privilege.
The dollar outlay may be steep, but unlocked platforms don’t generally come cheap, and the Aino at least attempts to help justify its asking price through a pleasingly spacious 3.0-inch display (432 x 240), a touch-screen user interface, a slide-out keypad, PlayStation 3 remote access, a built-in accelerometer, and a capable 8.1 mega pixel camera.
Sprinkling a little more retail fairy dust on the Aino, Sony Ericsson is also throwing in tri-band HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, an integrated FM radio, GPS navigation with geo-tagging, a matching pair of Bluetooth stereo earbuds, a charging dock, 55MBs of internal memory and an 8GB microSD memory card straight out the box.
Interested? Got $600 USD to burn? Visit your nearest SonyStyle store to pick up an Aino, or, if you’re too lazy to rise from the couch, grab one from SonyStyle.com.
