Expected to officially begin tempting the South Korean market's 47 million mobile phone users before the close of this week, the iconic touch-screen device will be carried by KT Corp., the country's second largest telecommunications operator.
According to KT Corp., it will be offering up three different iPhone models, ranging from the base 8GB handset with high-speed 3G connectivity, through to the more roomy 16GB and 32GB variants, which come with more evolved 3GS capabilities.
Basic monthly data plans accompanying the iPhone are expected to run from between 45,000 won to 95,000 won (approximately 39 USD to 82 USD).
In terms of Apple securing further market traction for its iPhone, the Reuters news agency reports that South Korea's leading mobile provider SK Telecom is also in talks with the Cupertino-based gadget giant – although no concrete plan to carry the device has been agreed at this point in time.
