Following a recent round of rumor quashing from ASUS regarding the development of a 3G-enabled Eee Pad Transformer, the Taiwan-based electronics specialist has this week confirmed the arrival of a ‘HD’ upgrade of its Transformer Prime tablet/laptop hybrid.
According to the company’s official blog, the revamped Transformer Prime TF700 is currently heading towards a June launch and will hit retail shelves as an enhanced successor to the existing Transformer Prime TF201.
The tweaked model will sport improved Wi-Fi connectivity—a sticking point with many TF201 users—a slightly adjusted chassis, a sexy display resolution of 1920x1200, and a 2.0 mega-pixel forward-facing camera that bests the old 1.2 mega-pixel sensor.
No pricing details for the Transformer Prime TF700 have been released by ASUS, but current industry whispers suggest it will sell for around £599 GBP in the UK, which is around £100 GBP more than the TF201.
