T-Mobile customers may have been enjoying the delights of Research In Motion's latest BlackBerry Bold smartphone since November 16, but expectant consumers attached to AT&T have had to wait a little longer to familiarise themselves with the new BlackBerry Bold 9700. That wait is now over.

More pointedly, the sassy Bold 9700 (or Bold 2 as it's also known) is now available through America's biggest telecommunications operator for a pocket tempting price of $199,99 USD, after a mail-in rebate of $100 USD and an agreed data service contract.

Boasting gently rounding edges and a sleeker profile, the lightweight Bold 9700 comes with a 2.44-inch (diagonal) high-resolution TFT LCD screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, trackpad navigation, high-speed 3G technology, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), Bluetooth v2.1, GPS and AGPS location, and a base 256MBs of flash memory.

Other features crammed into the Bold 9700 include a capable 3.2 mega pixel camera with video capture and 2x digital zoom, an onboard multimedia player, an integrated Web browser, memory expansion via microSD, and a 1500 mAh removable and rechargeable battery promising up to six hours of talk time and up to 38 hours of music playback time.
