While bigger can so often be better, the inverse is generally true in the technology industry. So, if you’re looking to replace your ageing desktop and save on workspace, but aren’t exactly enamoured by cheap desktop minis, then perhaps you should give Acer’s latest all-in-one computer a moment of your time.

Arriving as a rather sassy self-contained PC, the Acer Aspire Z5610 is powered by a dependable Intel dual-core E5300 processor and a spacious 4GBs of RAM, and goes for the aesthetic wow factor courtesy of an eye-poppingly svelte 24-inch high-definition (HD) display that’s bolstered by a full multi-touch user interface and even includes a handy low-slung keyboard light.

Other contributing aspects Acer hopes will loosen purse strings and draw consumers away from the growing raft of budget desktops, include Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 7 operating system, a sizable 320GB hard disk drive (HDD), and graphics oomph via ATI’s Mobility Radeon HD4570.

So how deep do you have to dig in order to secure the Acer Aspire Z5610 when it arrives later in the year? Well, Acer would be most pleased if an asking price of $899 USD doesn’t see you running for the hills.
