Remember before the current tablet furore, back when Netbooks were all the rage and the iPad was merely a twinkle in Apple's eye? If you do, and you haven't perhaps made the leap to touch-screen portable computers, the new Aspire One Happy from Acer might be worth a look.

Available in a range a vivid colours that suitably accompany the Happy branding, the latest entrant into Acer's ever-expanding Aspire One line comes with a 10.1-inch WSVGA display (1024 x 600), Intel's Atom N450 processor (or an optional dual-core Atom N550)and integrated GMA 3150 graphics, and 2GBs of RAM.

Perhaps most interestingly, the Happy also comes with dual operating systems, carrying as it does both Microsoft's Windows 7 platform and also Google's increasingly popular Android (version 2.1).

Other contributing aspects include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity (and optional 3G), up to 250GBs of hard drive storage, an on-board webcam, and a six-cell battery that promises up to eight hours of operation on a single charge.

All in all, that's not half bad considering the Aspire One Happy, which comes in colour choices of Hawaii Blue, Lime Green, Lavender and Candy Pink, only costs a meagre 250 GBP, which is significantly less than a certain i-branded tablet device.
