Software specialist Adobe has this week unveiled its new Creative Cloud platform, which “radically redefines the content creation process” by bringing it to the cloud so millions of users can access desktop and tablet apps, utilise creative services, and share their work.
Described as “a major component in the transformation of Adobe” the software company has said Creative Cloud should house a selection of platforms by early 2012, which will include six Touch Apps (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro and After Effects), and also innovative new tools such as Adobe Edge and Muse.
It will also offer up Digital Publishing Suite technologies to help users craft interactive publications on tablet computers, build and manage websites, and get to grips with cloud-based fonts (via the recent purchase of Typekit Inc.).
“Adobe Creative Cloud will become the hub for viewing, sharing and syncing of files created by Adobe Touch Apps and Adobe Creative Suite, and includes 20GB of cloud storage,” said Adobe in its official release.
“It will quickly develop into a service that will deliver access to Adobe’s flagship creative applications and services and become and essential resource for anyone interested in creativity—all at a highly attractive price,” it added.
Pricing and more information regarding the Creative Cloud will be revealed in November. However, a single edition of the Digital Publishing Suite will cost $400 USD and individual Touch Apps will cost $10 USD.
