The January 19 unveiling of iPad digital newspaper The Daily has been postponed, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
Citing sources closely linked with the matter, the report offers that iPad maker Apple and The Daily creator News Corp. require more time to put the digital publication’s subscription model through its paces.
News Corp., which is owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, has confirmed The Daily’s delay but has refused to comment further or provide a revised launch date.
However, tech site MediaMemo claims anonymous sources have said the digital newspaper is expected to be ready for the App Store in “weeks, not months.”
As is Apple’s wont where questions from the press are concerned, Jobs & Co. are remaining unsurprisingly tight-lipped.
