If you’re trend conscious enough to own an iPhone, chances are you also regularly sip chocolaty froth from an inconceivably large Starbucks cup while idly fingering your grease-smeared home screen. If so, this one’s for you…
Seattle-based coffee specialist Starbucks and gadget giant Apple have this week announced a new card-based ‘Pick of the Week’ promotion that enables thirsty and hungry customers to snaffle free software apps for their smartphones.
Expanding upon the existing platform that provides Starbucks customers with downloadable music tracks worth around $1.29 USD, the new promotion is due to open with the in-store availability of music identifier Shazam Encore, which normally sells for $5.99 USD.
As usual, each ‘Pick of the Week’ card will be doled out by Starbucks counter staff and will carry a specific code on the rear, which can be redeemed directly through the Apple App Store.
While we here at Tech Herald Towers are duty-bound to report on the latest promotional drive on offer via Starbucks, we’d be more inclined to drink more of its (burnt) lattes if it were peddling free slices of that filthy New York cheesecake.
Mmm.
