Not just thriving on the reputation afforded it as the world’s most trendy gadget maker, California-based Apple also happens to create some of the world’s best computer and gadgetry hardware.
That being said, the company isn’t averse to offering up timely solutions when rare and unwanted product shortfalls dare rear their ugly heads.
Moreover, Apple has this week answered mounting iMac user complaints associated with dodgy monitor quality by releasing a firmware update designed to eradicate annoying incidences of display flicker and unsightly yellow tinting.
While clearly not a major concern in terms of overall performance and user experience, the 27-inch iMac model tainted by the problem has been receiving a steady supply of related customer criticism since it hit the market in October of 2009.
“While slight colour variability is normal for LCD displays, customers who are concerned that their iMac has a yellow tint issue should contact Apple Care,” commented a spokesperson for Apple, “to address the intermittent flickering reported by some customers.”
Despite the apparent dip in the overall quality of the 27-inch iMac’s display screen, it would appear retail demand for the generously sized all-in-one computer is still strong.
Specifically, prospective buyers looking to score a 27-inch model presently face a shipping estimate of between three and four weeks – although Apple has been keen to note that it is “working to increase supply and meet up with strong demands.”
