If fevered Twitter chatter is to be believed, it would appear the much talked about Apple iPad is being delivered to clammy-handed UK consumers a day earlier than expected.

“My iPad arrived!” exclaimed Twitter user and Apple fanatic Craig Le Grice in an excited tweet. “Just as I was leaving the house. I’m a happy boy again.”

News of the slightly advanced release has led to suggestions that Apple’s recent supply-related delays – which pushed the iPad’s international release back from late April to late May – are now well and truly behind the Cupertino-based gadget giant.

For everyone else looking to snap up Apple’s acclaimed tablet computer, official Apple Stores and 139 outlets of Currys, PC World and Dixons will begin selling the trendy touch-screen device from 0800 tomorrow (Friday, May 28).

Sadly, it’s not all good news for prospective buyers, especially those who registered a pre-order after Apple began shuffling release and shipping dates and now face a delivery of no earlier than June 07.

For the impatient amongst you, we’d perhaps recommend a swift order cancellation and a fevered trip to your nearest Apple Store early on the morrow – or tonight if you’re willing to brave the UK elements in a sleeping bag.

Other countries set to receive their iPad allocations tomorrow include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland.
