In the face of mounting complaints regarding unusual energy seepage connected to its iPhone 4S, gadget maker Apple has finally conceded there is a problem with the smartphone’s internal battery.
“We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks,” outlined Apple while speaking with AllThingsD.
Despite confirming the problem’s existence, Apple has insisted that only “a small number of customer have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices”.
The official admittance comes after disgruntled customers flooded the Apple support forum with a rush of complaints, possible reasons and quick-fix suggestions to help improve operational longevity.
Many of those posting over recent days have claimed that their handsets are running hot and batteries are losing up to 15 percent charge every hour, even when the phone is not being actively used.
In related iPhone 4 news, the upcoming bug fix patch will also address ‘accent issues’ that Australian owners have been experiencing with the handset’s new Siri voice recognition platform.
