Regardless of what Jobs & Co. do or don’t roll out during the annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), this year’s upcoming showcase event has already revealed one cast-iron certainty: Apple’s brand appeal remains unstoppable.
Moreover, with rumours currently circulating with regard to the possible introduction of iOS 5, iPhone 5 and even iPad 3, tickets for June’s WWDC in San Francisco have sold out within just 12 hours of going on sale.
And that’s no mean feat when considering that each ticket to Apple’s high-profile conference comes attached to a hefty price tag of $1,599 USD.
Tickets for last year’s event sold out in around eight days, which was noted as a WWDC record at that time, while tickets for the 2009 conference remained available for an entire month.
“At this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS,” trumpeted Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “If you are an iOS or Mac OS X software developer, this is the event that you do not want to miss.”
Other attractions connected to WWDC 2011 include more than 100 technical sessions on a wide range of technology-specific topics, the showfloor assistance of over 1,000 Apple engineers, and the coveted Apple Design Awards.
The Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 will take place between June 6 and June 10.
