Remember that eerie Steve Jobs action figure we reported on recently? Well, it could soon become something of a rare collector’s item following news that Apple’s legal team is attempting to prevent its sale.
If you’re interested, we’d certainly suggest ordering one sharpish as Cupertino-based Apple has reportedly issued a cease and desist order in an effort to prevent Chinese toymaker In Icons from launching the uncanny-valley doll.
According to The Telegraph, Apple claims to own the image rights of its former chief executive and has informed In Icons that creating any product bearing his name or likeness—or the official company logo—is illegal.
The toy figure in question stands 12 inches high and is dressed in the trademark black turtleneck, blue jeans and sneakers combo Jobs so often wore. It also comes with removable spectacles, a pair of black socks, a keynote presentation backdrop, two miniature apples, and a stool.
Although not due to hit retail until February, the Steve Jobs doll is already doing the rounds on auction site eBay, where it is presently selling for upwards of $135 USD (some $36 USD beyond its original price).
Steve Jobs died in late 2011 following a protracted battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer.
