Enthusiast gamers looking to remain on the evolutionary bell curve should prepare to lose sleep and a hefty amount of cash following the unveiling of Acer’s new Aspire Predator desktop, which exudes enough burning intimidation to melt clean through the chassis towers of rival gaming PCs.
Designed to “conquer and destroy,” the snarling Predator AG7750 packs an Intel Core i7 920 quad-core processor, NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX470 graphics, support for 3-way SLI, a bowel-loosening 9GBs of DDR3 memory (expandable to 12GBs), 7.1-channel audio, Creative THX TruStudio sound and EAX 5.0 – all of which should devour even the most demanding game software.
“It’s a smoking hot gaming rig delivering eye-popping graphics and dynamic audio for a jaw-dropping experience that will fire up even hard core gamers,” trumpeted Susan Hu of Acer Canada’s retail desktop product management team.
“Plus, plenty of room for future upgrades will assist gamers in their quest to reign supreme in the new world order,” she added.
Other contributing elements packed beneath one of the most badass chassis designs we’ve ever seen, include Intel’s Turbo Boost technology for optimal performance whether gaming, multitasking or enjoying multimedia entertainment, along with support for DirectX 11, CUDA and NVIDIA’s PhysX Technologies.
From a data storage point of view, the Predator AG7750 also boasts a 1TB SATA hard drive that’s offset by a further three easy-swap drive compartments allowing for the carriage of up to four HDD units and a staggering combined data ceiling of 8TBs.
Beyond the Predator’s mechanised front cover, rugged protective casing, secure handle for transport and sexy lighting effects, such barely contained power needs a capable cooling system, and Acer claims it can protect PC performance “even during the fiercest of matches” thanks to its state-of-the-art, two-part liquid cooling system.
Wait, we’re not quite done. The AG7750 also comes with a multi-in-one card reader, an optical drive, 11 USB 2.0 ports, IEEE 1394, two eSATA ports, two Ethernet ports, two DVI ports, HDMI support, and open PCI Express slots including a PCI x16, two PCI Express x1 slots and a standard PCI slot.
Want one? So do we. All we have to do now is beg the boss to purge $1,999 USD from petty cash and allow us to take a month off to tackle the intergalactic battlegrounds of StarCraft II.
