As tech-loving consumers begin taking advantage of the annual Black Friday price reductions, unlucky buyers in the UK have been forced to acknowledge that not everything that glitters is gold.

Specifically, when the Currys online store began selling a £229 GBP Samsung notebook for just £22 GBP, thousands of bargain hunters poured forth to take advantage of what they thought was a Black Friday mega-deal.

Sadly, those gleeful customers were subsequently left disgruntled after Currys notified them via email that the notebook had been incorrectly priced and all related purchases were void.

“It is obviously a genuine mistake,” explained an official spokesperson for the retail outlet. “Unfortunately human error does occur. Somebody’s got fat finger syndrome.”

According to the Currys representative, terms and conditions posted to the store’s website clearly state that purchases are invalid if mistakenly priced products have been posted by human error.

However, it’s not all bad news for those customers no longer awaiting the arrival of a shiny Samsung computer, because Currys has reportedly offered gift vouchers (of unspecified value) by way of an apology.
