With media mogul Rupert Murdoch expected to bring 'The Daily' newspaper to the iPad, Virgin boss Richard Branson has today thrown his weight behind bringing tablet publications to mobile devices such as Apple's tablet.

More pointedly, Virgin has said it will officially unveil its own iPad-exclusive magazine next week, with the digital publication expected to focus more on entertainment, design, travel and international culture as opposed to news and current affairs—which will apparently be left to The Daily.

The magazine, which has been previously referred to as 'Maverick', is being developed under the creative gaze of Anthony Noguera (former editor of Arena and FHM) and Richard Branson's 29-year-old daughter Holly.

Although many industry watchers believe Virgin's magazine is bound for the iPad, some report are suggesting that Branson is actually planning to release the publication as an in-flight magazine on Virgin Airline flights.

According to media invitations, the magazine will be debuted at a special event in New York on Tuesday.
