This kind of beauty needs top-tier sound. Consider it done. Image: Philips.

Having already drooled uncontrollably over the new wide, wide, wide-screen Cinema 21:9 aspect ratio HD television being offered up by Philips, we thought it only right and proper to similarly fawn shamelessly all over the home theatre cinema sound system Philips is putting out to sex our ears as well as our eyes.

Designed to complement the Cinema 21:9’s undeniable visual beauty, the sound package comes complete with the advanced Philips HD AV receiver and a dedicated 7.1 speaker system that boasts four free-standing tallboy speakers, a pair of satellites, a centre channel and a 200W active subwoofer.

Taking a closer look at the overall bundle, class A/B amplifiers are also included in order to deliver high power, low distortion output while all the core speakers carry ferro-fluid cooled 25mm soft dome super tweeters. Um, cool!

And, if gazing at the whopping 56-inch screen gracing the Cinema 21:9 while having your ears lovingly blown out by the accompanying 7.1 surround sound system still isn’t enough to sate your ravenous appetite for cutting-edge entertainment, then Philips has one more device to tease your weeping wallet.

The Philips Cinema Blu-ray player comes with 1GB of internal memory, Internet connectivity, and fits the Cinema 21:9 jigsaw by being the first high-definition player capable of offering 21:9 mode selection as standard and can also upscale standard DVD discs to almost 1080p HD.

In related news, which could cause some Cinema 21:9 hopefuls to have a mild seizure, Philips has announced that its gargantuan television will hit UK retailers in June with a price point of around 3,500 GBP.
