Building on its established Vostro line of notebooks, computer manufacturer Dell has this week whipped the covers off its new Vostro 3000 range, which offers itself up as the perfect line of on-the-go companions for more demanding small and medium businesses.

With screen sizes ranging from 13 inches through to 17 inches, each of the notebooks within the 3000 line (i.e., the 3300, 3400 and 3500) are powered by a choice of either Intel’s Core i3 or Core i5 processors, while the more capable 3700 comes with an oomph-worthy Core i7 Quad Core beast.

All the new Vostros come with WWAN high-speed broadband, 802.11g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, alongside the Windows 7 operating system, and support for up to 6GBs of DDR3 SDRAM, hard drive storage of up to 500GBs, and up to a nine-cell battery.

Other features and functions common throughout the Vostro 3000 line include robust aluminium casings and durable screen hinges, an optical drive, a built-in Web camera and microphone for easy video conferencing, and a HDMI port for hosting high-definition presentations.

Optional additions include a fingerprint reader for improved security, full data-encrypted hard drives, and HD WLED displays in the 3500 and 3700 variants. The upper tier 3700 can also handle 1GB of discrete graphics muscle courtesy of NVIDIA’s GT 330M GeForce platform.

Dell has not yet issued final prices for the Vostro 3000 range, although all of the systems are expected to hit the United States from today – so get checking the official Dell website. Europe and Latin America will begin seeing the new Vostros from March 16.
