With touch-screen functionality becoming steadily more prevalent throughout the consumer electronics market (i.e. Nintendo DS, Apple iPhone), Dell Inc. has this week introduced its new Studio One 19, a curvy, sexy all-in-one computer system that boasts optional touch interface capabilities.

Described by Dell as an “entertainment PC” and boasting an 18.5-inch touch-screen display (1366x768), the Studio One 19 is open to a range of performance options culminating in the Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, 4GBs of dual channel RAM, a 750GB hard disk drive (HDD), NVIDIA’s GeForce 9400, Blu-ray HD, a 1.3 mega pixel Web camera, a 7-in-1 card reader and six USB ports.

“The new Studio One 19 is as nice to look at as it is functional,” commented Alex Gruzen, senior vice president of Dell Consumer products. “The Studio One 19 is about lifestyle and design and is very affordable for the family.”

Crafted from a mixture of aluminium, glass and fabric, the Studio One 19 uses only a single power chord and comes in a range of colours, including Solid Pure White, Tuscan Red, Navy Blue, Powder Pink and Charcoal, for a starting price of $699 USD.

However, this is Dell after all, which means that price is likely to rise by $100 USD for the touch-screen functionality, and yet more for the likes of increased topped-out memory and an integrated Blu-ray drive.

Those looking to benefit from the tidy convenience, tight performance and sassy lines of the all-in-one Studio One 19 should expect to dip into their bank accounts when Dell releases it onto the U.S. market before the summer.
